Loved watching your hike up to the summit and congradulations it really is an accomplishment. I did this hike in June 2023 and at 65 years I needed to get this off my bucket list before I was too old. Keep hiking.

We have hiked to that mine car you mentioned toward the beginning of this video. And you’re right: had we not known ahead of time what we were looking for we could have easily walked right on by without noticing. I was thinking we had hiked to Fern Branch Falls but after watching your video I realized we have not. It’s on our list now. Added note: some friends I made while I was their mailman (last name Owenby) recently posted on FB of visiting old gravesites like this while traveling in NC. I’m wondering now if this could be their relatives too.

That steam engine is really cool to see! We actually did another steam engine hike but it's off trail. You definitely got to go back and check out that waterfall now it's really pretty! Ramsey Cascades Falls is in the area also and it's really nice. Very well could be! Almost every cemetery we visited up there has those names we mentioned in the video and all of them.

Just returned from trip to Bryson City and Smoky Mountains. It’s so nice in the mountains. Views are incredible when not foggy.

I think colors stand out more easily in those conditions. Some of my favorite photos of fall colors came from a hike in the Cohutta Wilderness on a foggy rainy day. The colors just pop in those conditions. We haven’t done this one so it’s another added to our list. Thanks for posting! And I’d much rather be going up using a headlamp than descending. ESPECIALLY w/o my hiking stick! Glad y’all arrived safe and didn’t take any spills along the way.

Definitely my favorite weather condition to film in! That's why we loved the Olympic National Park so much it was just so beautiful! Definitely reminds me of the smokies another temper green forest. Hopefully God willing will be heading to Oregon in July hopefully get a lot of good videos from there! Going downhill always sucks no matter what kind of condition 🤣

Wow at the water level! I’ve hiked this trail several times and the most recent (last September) it rained on us all the way up and then stopped. But the water levels weren’t as high as when y’all did this video. It wasn’t crowded but there were others on the trail. Just not a lot. Days like that can seem inconvenient but my wife will always say at the end of the day that she’s so happy we made the hike.

This was a great day of hiking! Still one of our favorites 😁 You're right sometimes hiking in the rain can get rid of the crowds and sometimes it pays off! We got a few more routes up Mount LeConte and then we can say we've been to all of them.
